While Radhanath Swami made that extraordinary journey to India in the early 1970's, he had spent a major part of it in the lap of Himalayas. As revealed by him in his autobiography, The Journey Home, the time spent in the Himalayas
became a prominent source of transformation in his life. It was while staying in the Himalayas that he learned some of most precious realizations of his life, something that he was going to preserve in his heart and enlighten the rest of the world for the time to come. It was in Himalayas only that he learned a beautiful yet striking lesson of what is the essence of any religion, by connecting to a very curious characteristic from the life of a musk deer, a species of deer found in the Himalayan region. Radhanath Swami spoke this story on the occasion of Pune book launch of 'The Journey Home'
