Radhanath Swami on "It Is The Thought That Counts!"

A mother is someone who guides the first faltering steps of her child and keeps vigil in illness. She stands solid like a rock in times of crises and acts as a personal example of sacrifice and courage.
Most importantly, she imprints on the mind of her child some invaluable lessons which the passage of time only goes on to strengthen. As the noted American Congregational minister, Henry Ward Beecher remarked - “The mother's heart is the child's schoolroom”. Truly, a mother is the source of the first lessons for any child. She is the one who shapes his initial character, something that he lives upon for the rest of his life. A well-known idiom says, ‘An apple does not fall far from the tree’.
